About the club

The Buxton Rambling Club is a traditional rambling club that was founded more than 60 years ago and has an active membership. The club exists to encourage the love of the open air and countryside by means of an organised programme of rambles and social events. Since the club is fortunate to be based in such a good walking area, many of the walks take place in the Peak District, but there are some walks and other events which take place further afield.

Besides the weekly programme of rambles, the club also arranges other events, such as barbeques, social evenings and also weekend trips further afield (such as the Lake District). In addition, individual members of the club organise numerous other activities, which although not 'official' club activities, involve many members. One further advantage of joining the club is that your membership will qualify you for a discount (typically 10%) at certain major outdoor shops in the area. Go to our links page for details of participating stores.
